26 Specifications Lecture Seating
Lecture Seating Specifications
(This section pertains to the Aeron Lecture Seating model.)
PART 3 – OPTIONS
3.1 WORKSURFACES
.
Tables are to be a 3-ply warp resistant construction with a core of 1-1/8” thick 45-50 lb. density particle
board, a 0.020” Kraft backer sheet, and a face material of veneer. The grain is to run the length of the
worksurface.
3.2 MODESTY PANELS
.
Straight modesty panels are to be a 3-ply warp resistant construction with a core of 5/8” thick 45-50 lb.
density particle board. The face surfaces are to be 0.030” high-pressure laminate. On laminates with a
wood grain, the grain is to run horizontally.
B.
Straight modesty panels are to be a 3-ply warp resistant construction with a core of 3/4” thick 45-50 lb.
density particle board. The face surfaces are to be veneer; the grain is to run horizontally.
C.
Curved modesty panels are to be 3/8” thick medium density fiberboard with a 1/2” thick x 1” wide birch
plywood strip affixed to the bottom edge. The face surfaces are to be 0.030” high pressure laminate. On
laminates with a wood grain, the grain is to run horizontally.
D.
Curved modesty panels are to be 3/8” thick medium density fiberboard with a 1/2” thick x 1” wide birch
plywood strip affixed to the bottom edge. The face surfaces are to be veneer; the grain is to run
horizontally.
3.3 END PANELS
.
End panels are to be a 3-ply warp resistant construction with a core of 1-1/8” thick 45-50 lb. density particle
board. The face surfaces are to be 0.030” high-pressure laminate.

.
Each fixed arm shall have an armpad support and a yoke, both of die-cast aluminum with either a polished
or wrinkle-coat powder-coated epoxy finish. A support shall attach to the arm yoke with screws, and the
yokes shall attach with screws to slots in the swing arms, at the left and right of the chair back.
3.5 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM/DATA WIRE MANAGEMENT
.
Provide manufacturers standard modular electrical system for power distribution. All electrical modules
shall be manufactured from BX cable or liquid-tight BX cable, and shall have molded end connectors. The
modules shall connect to each other with a snap fitting designed so that they cannot be accidentally
disconnected during normal use. Each module shall be securely connected to the underside of the
worksurface.
B.
The electrical system shall provide for a minimum of two separate circuits in each row and shall be
configured with two hot wires, a shared neutral and a shared ground.
C.
Each row is to be powered at a single power entry point at the end of the row. The power feed shall be
manufactured from liquid-tight BX cable with a molded end connector at one end for connection into the
electrical system and a 6” pigtail at the other end for connection into the building’s electrical supply. Wiring
the power feed into the building’s electrical supply and the parts necessary to do so shall be done/supplied
by others and is not the responsibility of the manufacturer or its’ installers.
D.
Provide manufacturers standard power/data module consisting of two electrical outlets and two Category 6
RJ-45 data jacks. Electrical and data jacks are to be black in color. The module shall be mounted in the
worksurface centered and shared between two seated occupants.
E.
Provide necessary quantities of manufacturers standard wire management raceways for the concealment
and routing of data wiring. Data wiring is to be provided and installed by others and is not the responsibility
of the manufacturer or its’ installers.
