Lecture Seating Installation Instructions 31
Figure 12 – Installing Curved Modesty Panels
1. Consult TSI Floor Plan Layout in order to identify and gather all modesty panels (C) required for a specific row.
2. Using the TSI Floor Plan Layout to determine the correct locations, attach the modesty panel brackets (A) to the
top, aligning the outer surface of the brackets with the modesty panel rout on the underside of the worksurface
(E), using three #10 x 7/8” pan head sheet metal screws.
3. Cut two 1” square pieces of foam tape (B) per modesty panel bracket and secure to the brackets.
4. Starting at one end, insert modesty panel (C) into the modesty panel rout on the underside of the worksurface
(E). Attach the modesty panel to the support panel using one lower angle (H) and two #10 x 5/8” pan head sheet
metal screws. Attach the modesty panel bracket (A) to the modesty panel (C) using two #10 x 5/8” pan head
sheet metal screws.
5. Insert the next modesty panel into the rout and align it with the previous panel. Attach modesty panel to the
brackets, ensuring the joint between the modesty panels is tight and even.
6. Repeat step #5 until all modesty panels are installed for the row. Note that the last panel may require cutting to
fit in the remaining space. Cut the side nearest the support panel. Attach the last modesty panel to the support
panel (D) using one lower angle (H) and two #10 x 5/8” pan head sheet metal screws.
Figure 13 – Installing Chairs
1. Check the 3/8-16 x 1-1/2” bolt (P) at the bottom of the tube at the end of each swing arm (B) to verify it is
installed to a sufficient depth to prevent full engagement of the tapered fit of the swivel and return cylinder (see
Section View C).
2. Insert a swivel and return cylinder (N) into the tube at the end of each swing arm (B).
3. Install chair upper onto the top of the cylinder and press down to insure good engagement. Allow the swing arm
(B) to move to the closed position, being careful that the chair does not hit the worksurface.
4. Align the chair with the table edge and slowly loosen the 3/8-16 x 1-1/2” bolt until the cylinder is seated and fully
engaged inside the swing arm. Firmly press the chair in place.
